The story
He was supposed to be nobody
Taren is an eighteen-year-old goat herder on the light side. His herd
keeps drifting toward the Duskline, where the air has been strange
lately. His father is already across it, working the Dark Side.
He isn't the loud, chosen-one type — he's quiet, observant, and
stronger than he realises. When the world starts coming apart, he has
to choose between the world he was raised in and the truth he found in
it. The choices land on him anyway.
All of this already exists — designed, proofed and costed. When the
shop opens, the list gets in first.

“Neonova represents the moment I stopped living by other
people’s expectations and started listening to my own inner
voice. It represents the breaking point that became a beginning.”
There was a long stretch of my life where I kept losing myself without
realizing it. Leaving that behind was the first time I chose myself in
years, and it forced me into a kind of soul-searching I had never done
before.
So I turned to the one thing that had always been there for me —
creativity. I thought I was building a portfolio. Instead, I opened a
door I didn’t know existed, and suddenly my mind was overflowing
with worlds that wouldn’t let me sleep. That was the beginning of
Neonova.
The rest of the letter — the part about the point where I
couldn’t see a way forward, and what brought me back — is
printed on parchment and goes inside every physical copy. It was written
for the people who brought this book into the world, so that’s
where it stays.
